Opening Hours

You are welcome to visit the gardens when they are open throughout the year:

  • February to October: 9 am to 5 pm

  • November to January: 9 am to 3:30 pmSecurity

Security

All four gates are locked at other times and a security watch is in operation. A CCTV camera operates in the car park and the Community Police patrol regularly.

Gardening and historical interests

If the gardener is available, he will be happy to answer your questions. The Apple House is often open. There, you can see inscriptions on the wall, The Duke of Hamilton’s coats of arms and buy seasonal produce from the garden like apples, pears, plums and even mulberries.

Games, Cycles & Dogs

Ball games, cycles and dogs are not permitted.
